A Cautionary Tale: My Worst Experience with DTDC Express
I don't usually post on social media because I'm too busy focusing on my clients, but this is a story that needed to be shared. A story of misconduct, privacy breach, and a lesson in poor handling of online communications.

DTDC Express stands for 'Don’t Trust, Don’t Care.' This was made painfully clear during one of my recent experiences with their services.
The Incident
I placed an order via the DTDC app and received a call from Person 1, the delivery person, at a specified landmark. I waited for 10 minutes, during which I tried to reach him, only to receive the usual: 'I’ll be there soon.'
Once Person 2, the coordinator, took the call, the situation escalated. Instead of providing a solution, she got defensive and rude, questioning my professionalism: 'What do you think of yourself? You’re sending a courier for the first time, not men!'
The Escalation
When I asked about the details shared on the DTDC app, Person 2 started speaking even more rudely and threatened to ignore my complaints. Her response: 'Its a funny line, had the scenario been an amicable one.' She went on to say that DTDC wouldn't be refunding the amount.
Feeling exasperated, I decided to hang up and avoid further escalation. However, a new person, Person 3, called me with a threatening tone, demanding to know why I abused him. He threatened to come to my place. Despite my requests to share his name, Person 3 was uncooperative.
The Aftermath
After reporting the ordeal over email and through Instagram, my complaints to DTDC were met with a lukewarm response: 'Next time it won’t happen.' This response completely disregarded the seriousness of the situation, both the threat and the privacy breach. DTDC also failed to acknowledge that they were using personal information irresponsibly, as the sender/receiver details and numbers were shared with a non-DTDC affiliated individual.
The Legal Proceeding
Feelingignant, I lodged a police complaint and even posted about my experience online to spread awareness. After gaining traction, I received a call from DTDC.
They informed me that the person who threatened me was an internal DTDC employee and wouldn't disclose his name. I had already filed a complaint under that number, so I was assured that further action would be taken. However, they didn't provide any specific explanations or commitments on what kind of strict action they would take or how they would ensure my future safety.
My Takeaways
The experience with DTDC left me with a few key takeaways:
Respecting people's time. Not tolerating people's rudeness. Your silence is just an excuse for them to do more. Fighting battles with proof.I hope this story serves as a cautionary tale and motivates others to be more mindful of the companies they choose to trust with their personal information and deliveries.
