The ability of a Harrier jet to fire while hovering is not theoretical. Though not an everyday occurrence, it is indeed possible for a Harrier to engage a target while suspended in the air. This is a testament to the advanced technology and engineering behind these aircraft.

However, such maneuvers are highly specialized and not routine practice.
