Nevertheless, a launch vehicle alone, while crucial, is not sufficient to complete a complex space mission such as a manned Mars mission.

The Need for a Mars Module

Designing a manned Mars mission requires more than just a powerful rocket; it necessitates a spacecraft designed for extended habitation and exploration. The Apollo capsule and its Lunar Module were not sufficient for Mars exploration due to their limited size and capability. A Mars Module for a manned mission would need to be much larger, equipped with life support systems, crew quarters, experimental facilities, and more. Even with multiple Saturn V launches, it remains a significant challenge to construct a vehicle that could safely transport humans to Mars and back.

This duration requires advanced life support systems, radiation shielding, and a much larger living and working space than what the Apollo capsule and Lunar Module provided.
