How to Change Your Default Homepage in Microsoft Edge Browser

As one of the most widely used web browsers, Microsoft Edge often serves as the gateway to users' online activities. If you find yourself wanting to change the default homepage to something more personal or practical, read on for a step-by-step guide on how to do so.

Part 1: Setting the Home Page

To change your home page in Microsoft Edge, follow these steps:

Select Settings: In Microsoft Edge, click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the browser. Scroll down and select View advanced settings: This will reveal more options under the settings menu. Find the Home Button: Below the settings, you should see a home button. To the left of your Edge browser's address bar, there is a drop-down menu specifically for the home button. Select “A specific page”: This will allow you to enter a custom URL for your home page. Enter the Web Address: In the text box that appears, enter the web address of the site you want to make your homepage. For example, if you want to make Google your homepage, type Click the Save icon: This icon, which looks like a floppy disc, is located to the right of the URL you just entered. This will save your address as your new Home button page. Now, whenever you click the Home button, this page will load automatically.

Part 2: Setting the Start Page

Finding a page that loads automatically when you start your browser? Here’s how:

Click the three dots icon: Located in the upper-right corner of Microsoft Edge, this button will open a drop-down menu. Select Settings: From the drop-down menu, choose settings. Open the drop-down menu below Home: This will display options for what will open when you start Edge. Select “A specific page or pages”: This option allows you to specify the URL of the page you want to set as your start page. Enter the Web Address: In the text box that appears, type the web address of the site you want to set as your start page. For example, if you want to set Google as your start page, type Click the Save icon: This iconic floppy disk icon is positioned to the right of the URL you just entered. Clicking on it will save the new start page. Your browser will now automatically load the page you specified every time you open Microsoft Edge.

By customizing your default homepage and start page in Microsoft Edge, you can streamline your browsing experience and access the sites that matter most to you without any hassle. Whether it's for work, personal interests, or just a preference for a more familiar interface, these settings can be adjusted to suit your exact needs.
