How to Identify Devices Connected to Your Android Phone Hotspot

Managing and securing your mobile hotspot is a crucial part of staying connected while also protecting your personal data. This guide will walk you through the steps of identifying which devices are connected to your Android phone hotspot using two effective methods: the Notification Bar and the Settings menu.

Method 1: Notification Bar

The first method for identifying connected devices to your Android phone hotspot is through the Notification Bar. Here's how you can do it:

Activate your mobile hotspot on your device by following these steps: Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the Notification Bar. Tap on the Tethering or Mobile Hotspot option.

Once activated, the devices connected to your hotspot and their MAC addresses will be listed under this option. If you wish to block a device from your hotspot, simply tap next to the device you want to prevent from using your data connection.

Method 2: Settings

If you prefer a more detailed approach, you can use the Settings menu to identify connected devices:

Open your device's Settings app. Scroll down and tap on Wireless networks. Tap on More to see additional settings. Tap on Mobile Hotspot and tethering. Swipe down to tap on Mobile Hotspot settings. Review the list of connected users.

Here, you will see the list of connected devices and their MAC addresses. If you need to block a device from your hotspot, simply tap next to the device you want to prevent from using your data connection.

Additional Security Measures

In your hotspot settings, you can also confirm the number of devices connected to your Hotspot, which should help you ensure that only authorized devices are accessing your network. Additionally, setting a strong password for your hotspot is vital for securing your connection. Here’s how you can do it:

Go to your device's Settings app. Search for hotspot or personal hotspot. At the bottom of the page, you should see a list of connected devices. If not, look for a hotspot app that can show you the connections.

By regularly checking these settings, you can ensure that only trusted devices are connected to your Android phone hotspot, enhancing both security and control over your network.
