Taxis and three-wheelers can be hired from the exit gate towards Platform No. 1. The approximate fare is Rs. 350 for a taxi and Rs. 180 for a three-wheeler. Alternatively, shared autos from BARA CHAURHA can also be taken, which can be reached by a cycle rickshaw from the railway station.

By Road

The proximity of the Central Bus Stand/ Jhakarkatti bus stand to the Kanpur Central Railway Station makes it easier to connect with taxis and autorickshaws that can be taken to the IIT Kanpur campus. The fares for these vehicles are similar to those from the railway station.

By Air

For those arriving by air, Lucknow Airport is the recommended option. Lucknow Airport, situated about 80 kilometers from IIT Kanpur, can be accessed via taxis, with typical costs ranging from Rs. 1350 to Rs. 1800. It takes approximately 2 to 3 hours to reach the IIT Kanpur from the airport. Given the distance, it is not advisable to use Kanpur Airport for travel to IIT Kanpur.

Places to Eat on the Campus
