Insights and Expectations for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Director Zack Snyder Comic Book Adaptation

At this point, Zack Snyder has proven one thing; he is good at lifting iconic images right out of comic book panels and into the big screen. So, I am expecting more of that in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

However, I am scared to expect anything else. I never believed Snyder when he said that he did Man of Steel to ultimately lead to a Batman movie. I genuinely believe that only after contemplating who could face Superman did Batman come into the picture. This is blatant BS in my opinion. The man had been secretly building up to eventually make a Batman movie, and they should have not let him do it!

Only time will prove me wrong after watching the movie.

Plot Preview: Injustice Gods Among Us

Okay, I had to start somewhere. I had to share the plot of the comic book series Injustice Gods Among Us, which has some semblance to the trailers of Batman v Superman.

After going through numerous issues of comic books and superhero movies, I came across a more pragmatic idea of looking at a super powerful entity in this mortal world. Would you trust an entity with infinite power, such as Superman, to be morally good just by his word? What would happen if he suddenly wakes up and decides to destroy everyone, including his own allies from The Justice League, because of a conflict of interest or a belief that he is right?

Superman's followers might become a cult of fanatics, which could be detrimental to society. On the other side, there are a few, sufficient enough, of course, because the comic series is in its fourth year, 2015, with the first three years written by Tom Taylor, and now continued by Brian Buccellato, who will bring in Hercules, Son of Zeus, into the war. I am eagerly waiting to see how it all ends, not only in the comic series but also in the movie.

Summary and Final Thoughts

Expectations are always high with any movie adaptation, especially one that combines the iconic characters of Batman and Superman. As a fan and a potential viewer, I am excited and curious to see how Zack Snyder and the production team handle this storyline with the additional characters like Flash and Aquaman.

The movie marks a stepping stone for the Justice League universe, setting the stage for future collaborations. The potential for complex character dynamics and moral dilemmas is exciting, and it remains to be seen how these themes will be explored in the film. My only hope is that the film stays true to the source material and delivers a compelling narrative that does justice to these iconic characters.
