Mindtree: A Cautionary Review from a Fresh Graduate

I have chosen to remain anonymous to provide an honest review of my experience with Mindtree, a company I have been with for almost 2 years now. I am eager to end my bond with this organization as soon as possible. My advice to fresh graduates is to avoid wasting your precious time with Mindtree—look for other opportunities such as NTT Data, Accenture, or CTS, where you can invest your time learning valuable skills.

The Mindtree Interview Experience

My journey with Mindtree began when I was offered an interview in February 2021. Following two technical rounds, I received a call from HR representative Divya H P to provide more details and to receive an offer letter. She informed me that she would send an online form to be completed within a day. I filled out the form promptly and awaited my offer, which was supposed to arrive within two days. Unfortunately, this did not happen. I called Divya for updates but received no response. Once she finally responded, she informed me that my compensation demands were too high and that my candidature had been declined without reason. At the time, my search for clarity led to a realization that Mindtree is unprofessional and unethical. Never trust this company.

Initial Joining Experience and Training

After finally joining, one of my most significant challenges was the training period. The Mindtree Kalinga training was supposed to be a great learning opportunity. However, the tech topics covered in the training were random and were assigned based on a game. My interests and skills were not taken into account. Upon completion of the training, I was assigned a project or placed on the Official Bench. The project allocation process is based on a random generator, which often assigns the wrong tech skills to the wrong employees. Those who are trained in the correct tech may not even be assigned to their training projects. The project allocation team is inflexible, and when asked for clarity, they often say one needs to be ready for any tech, making the process even more challenging and demotivating.

Subsequent Employment and Project Work

After my project was washed out, I was placed on the Official Bench. The talent team warns me to apply for projects through their internal portal but reminds me that there are no opportunities for freshers. They force me to learn outdated skills just to place me somewhere in the company. My advice to prospective employees is to be cautious and consider Mindtree as a last resort. If you are looking for a chill, relaxed work environment where your future is jeopardized, go ahead and join Mindtree. Otherwise, seek alternative opportunities that align better with your career goals.

In conclusion, Mindtree's treatment of fresh graduates is a cause for serious concern. The unprofessional and unethical behavior of HR, the random nature of the training, and the inflexible project allocation process all contribute to a negative work environment. Fresh graduates should carefully consider their options and avoid Mindtree unless they are looking to waste their time and jeopardize their future. For those who have already joined, remember that you are not alone. I hope this review can help you make an informed decision and avoid a similar experience.
