My Programming Journey: Then and Now

Programming has always been a part of my life, evolving from a casual hobby to a full-time profession. Whether it was starting at a young age or rediscovering it in adulthood, programming has been a transformative experience.

Early Beginnings and Progress

I first started indulging in programming languages when I was around 10 years old. My dad bought me a laptop, and I began coding some basic programs written in C. Unfortunately, I quit studying coding not long after, but the desire to master programming never left me. It wasn't until my late 20s that I restarted learning programming, and it has gone exceedingly well ever since.

My programming journey began in 2015, and it has been an incredibly fascinating ride. Over the years, I've gained experience in various programming languages and technologies. Currently, I am focused on web development and working on some exciting projects. If you have any specific questions about programming or want to share your own experiences, feel free to ask.

Personal Stories and Learning Experiences

CodingSprit, for example, started programming at the age of 14 with the language C. Despite the challenges, he still writes C fluently and now even excels in system programming. His journey proves that persistence and dedication can lead to mastery in programming. He also mentioned using online documentation, books, and video tutorials, but found that a combination of these resources worked best for him.

Another individual started programming in later grades of school but didn't have a strong affinity for it at the time. However, his interest was ignited when he began playing Minecraft and discovered the ability to create mods. Inspired by this, he started learning Java. He found the process challenging but ultimately rewarding, as it led him to create his own mods and led to a deeper interest in programming. As his experiences grew, he also started learning other languages such as PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and even ventured into Python, Scala, and game development with Unity and Unreal engines.

My Current Experience and Further Goals

My current experience as a full-time mobile developer is fulfilling. I started learning about 50 programming languages and can pick up a new one within an hour or two if necessary. Although I stopped accepting programming jobs about 40 years ago, I have never stopped refining my skills and resolving bugs. I am currently happy with my current identity as a mobile developer, and I am excited about the future of programming in the tech industry.

Conclusion

Whether you're just starting your programming journey or you're a seasoned professional, it's important to remember the passion and dedication that drive you forward. Programming is a creative and problem-solving endeavor that never stops evolving. As technology continues to advance, so do the requirements and opportunities in the programming world.
