Navigating the Atlantic: A Journey Through Yachts and Cruise Ships

Have you ever crossed the Atlantic by ship? I have crossed the Atlantic Ocean four times by ship, and each time it felt like the Engine Room of a Sturgeon class submarine. Despite the challenges, there's no shortage of adventure to be had in these vast expanses of water.

Yachting Through the Atlantic

But the most thrilling experience I've had is crossing the Atlantic Ocean five times on a yacht. This journey was vastly different from the experiences on ships. The yacht provided a unique setting, filled with luxury and adventure.

I have sailed on a converted rig supply vessel from Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands to Cape Town in South Africa. But my yachting journey took me across in catamarans: two 39 ft Leopards, a 44 ft Leopard, and two 48 ft Leopards. Each yachting trip included a stopover at St Helena Island, an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, adding to the enchantment of the journey.

On these yachts, the crew and the passengers had the opportunity to experience the vast beauty and mysticism of the ocean. The South Atlantic stretches across a vast expanse, offering breathtaking views of the horizon and the endless blue water. The yachts were not just a mode of transportation, but a place where adventure and luxury co-existed. Cruise ships have their charm too. They offer the opportunity to call at several ports of call, providing a diverse range of experiences. The cruise ship experience offers a mix of relaxation, entertainment, and discovery, making it an attractive option for many.
