Preparing for NDA 2 2021: A Comprehensive Guide for Self-Study

Hello everyone, my name is Ayush Tiwari. I am currently in Class 11 PCM and planning to appear for NDA 2 2021. This article will provide a detailed guide on how to prepare effectively for the NDA exam, especially for those who are self-studying. I will share my personal experience and recommend some of the best books and resources to help you achieve success.

1. Establishing a Study Routine: It is crucial to set aside time for self-study every day. Aim to study for at least 5 hours daily, balancing your board exam syllabus with NDA preparation. Consistency is key, and regular practice will help you build a strong foundation.

Detailed Study Strategy

Mathematics: For mathematics, start with the NCERT textbooks, which provide an excellent foundation. After thoroughly understanding the theory of each chapter, start solving the NCERT exercise questions. This will help you grasp the basic concepts and build your problem-solving skills. Once you have completed the NCERT exercises, you can supplement your learning with additional practice from R.S. Aggarwal, a reliable source for extra problems.

I followed the Byju's faculty, specifically Sanjeev Sir, to build a strong mathematical foundation. Sanjeev Sir suggested creating a separate notebook for formulas, tricks, and concepts. I marked questions that were conceptually complex and revised them at least once a week. This approach helped me to reinforce my understanding and improve my accuracy over time.

English

Improving Vocabulary and Grammar: English can be challenging, but it is manageable with regular practice. I found Vikrant Kathuria Sir's notes very helpful. By practicing from previous year's questions and mock tests, I was able to familiarize myself with the type of questions that might appear. Additionally, reading the Indian Express newspaper with a dictionary helped me to enhance my vocabulary and stay updated with current affairs.

To further improve your vocabulary, I highly recommend the book Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis. This book covers a wide range of vocabulary and techniques for improving language skills. Regular reading and self-practice will help you overcome any language barriers and boost your confidence.

Physics, Chemistry, and Biology

Building a Strong Fundamentals: Physics, chemistry, and biology require a strong grasp of basic concepts. For these subjects, I followed the Manohar Pandey book as well as the class notes provided by Byju's Exam Prep. The notes and books by Manohar Pandey were particularly helpful as they covered the essential concepts and provided clear explanations. Byju's Exam Prep also provided additional resources, including previous year's questions, which were invaluable.

Geography and Current Affairs

Mastering Geography: Geography, like other subjects, requires a thorough understanding of the topics. I focused on Manohar Pandey's book and Byju's Exam Prep notes. Revising the notes multiple times (3-5 times) helped me to internalize the information and feel confident during the exam.

Current Affairs: For current affairs, I relied on Byju's Defence Preparation. This platform offers comprehensive coverage of current events and is updated regularly. Regular practice and staying up-to-date with current affairs will ensure that you are well-prepared for any questions related to this topic.

History and Polity

Historical and Political Knowledge: History and polity require a good memory of key events and concepts. I relied on Manohar Pandey's notes and Byju's Exam Prep for these topics. Regular reading and summarizing the key points will help you to remember them more effectively.

By focusing on these subjects, you can build a strong foundation and improve your overall performance in the NDA exam. Remember, the key to success is consistency and regular practice.

Additional Tips: Consistency: Stick to your study schedule and make it a habit. Transcend Multiple Sources: Avoid reading from too many different sources as it can be overwhelming. Focus on one trusted source and revise it regularly. Stay Updated: Regularly update your knowledge of current affairs by reading reliable sources like the Indian Express.

With the right approach, you can achieve your goal of clearing the NDA exam. Best of luck, and I am confident that with determination and hard work, you will succeed!
