Scoring Above 95 in Class 12 West Bengal Board Exams for PCMB Subjects
Hi everyone! I recently completed my Class 12 board exams in 2023, and I also prepared for the NEET exam during the same time. My overall score was 96.4%. Here's how I managed to achieve a remarkable score, especially in PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology) subjects.
Key Achievements
Here are my subjectwise scores out of 100:
Physics: 97 Chemistry: 100 Biology: 95 Psychology: 96 English: 94I would like to share my tips on how to score above 95 in these subjects. While my focus was on PCMB subjects, the general tips can be applied to other subjects as well.
Subject-wise Tips for Scoring High
English
To excel in English, read the chapters line by line. Completing the syllabus before your school opens can significantly boost your score. I completed the syllabus in my summer vacation, and it paid off with a score of 95.
Physics
For Physics, focus on understanding concepts rather than just theory. Prioritize NCERT textbooks, as they are comprehensive and cover a wide range of topics. Additionally, solving example questions, back exercises, and NCERT Exemplar problems can make a significant difference. Sl Arora is a great reference book for extra practice and derivations.
Chemistry
Chemistry, especially in Sciences, relies heavily on NCERT textbooks. It is crucial to solve all the questions in NCERT and cover a variety of question types, including assertion-reasoning. Additionally, solving previous year questions and sample papers can help you get a feel for the exam format. Aim to study 1.5 to 2 hours daily for this subject.
Biology
Biology is all about understanding the concepts deeply. NCERT is the primary resource, but practicing Arihant's chapterwise previous year question book can help you. Regular revision and solving previous years' questions can significantly improve your score. Spend 1.5 to 2 hours daily on this subject, and try to complete the syllabus by October.
Mathematics
Even though I wasn’t a Mathematics student, I still had some knowledge from my friends who had the subject. They recommended solving NCERT textbook questions, NCERT Exemplar, and some additional problems from books like RD Sharma. Aim for 2 to 3 hours of daily study time for Mathematics.
Physical Education
For Physical Education, the Saraswati publication book is sufficient for the board exams. However, an Arihant chapterwise previous year question book can help you practice writing answers and MCQs. Aim to read at least 10 pages weekly for this subject, as it is highly scoring.
General Recommendations
Consistency is key. Do not neglect your regular school exams while preparing for competitive exams like NEET. The basic concepts required for these exams overlap with those of board exams. Stay focused and plan your study schedule accordingly.
Conclusion
I hope these tips and strategies help you achieve high scores in your class 12 West Bengal board exams. Best of luck to all the students preparing for their exams! Please upvote, share, and comment your thoughts.
