Unlike relying solely on Union Government regulations, the state now offers a small premium over the minimum reference price for agricultural products. This has been made possible with the support of the DMK government, which provided a separate financial report for agriculture, ensuring transparent and specific support for the sector.

Dravidian Model in Education

Former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi's legacy in the DMK government has been particularly impactful in the education sector. Under his leadership, initiatives like the Mid-day Meal Scheme ensured children did not come to school on an empty stomach.
