Transcending Human Nature: Achieving Unity in a Divided World
Transcending Human Nature: Achieving Unity in a Divided World
As societies around the world continue to evolve, the question arises: how long will it take for us to move beyond our inherent human nature and stop segregating each other based on external factors such as pigmentation, appearance, wealth, and political beliefs?
For as long as groups like Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Critical Race Theory (CRT) persist in teaching and advocacy that aim to categorize and shame others based on past deeds not committed by the individuals in question, societal issues will continue to arise.
The Influence of Segregation and Division
Segregation and division among humans are deeply rooted in our societal structures. While there are times when we categorize each other based on physical appearance, other times it's beliefs that divide us. The increasing polarization of science and politics has only exacerbated this issue. We now divide ourselves into categories based on education level, vaccination status, political party affiliation, conspiracy theories, and social group affiliations. Even positions on climate change and beliefs in global warming have become dividing factors.
A Balance Between Differences and Similarities
On one hand, humans share a remarkable genetic similarity, with only minor physical and physiological differences. We also share a need to work together to achieve significant accomplishments. Celebrating our similarities and respecting differences can indeed improve our collective effectiveness in working together.
On the other hand, we benefit from varying genetic advantages, freedom from disabilities, and social privileges that are likely to persist. These privileges, whether positive or negative, must be recognized and addressed. By understanding and acknowledging privilege, and working to offer equal access to tools and opportunities, we can enhance our overall productivity and capability to address major threats such as nuclear weapons, climate change, and the ethical use of emerging technologies like AI, drones, and genetic modification.
Ethical Law and Human Nature
True progress towards transcending human nature can only be achieved when we recognize and accept that all humans are equal. We must also understand that no matter how insignificant the threat may appear, it should not be underestimated until proven otherwise. We need to acknowledge that none of us are infallible and can fall into the same pitfalls as others.
Furthermore, individuals must stop sacrificing their values for mere comfort and convenience. The current dependency on consumerism and the lack of self-reliance among individuals and the younger generations have made them susceptible to manipulation by corporations. This lack of humility and self-awareness, a trait often lacking in society, is perpetuated through the repetition of behaviors seen in previous generations.
The Role of Science and Ethical Law
The proposals for discovering the nature of reality that could aid in ethical advancements should involve multiple fields, including psychology, philosophy, and specific sciences such as physics, chemistry, and computer science. By understanding human behavior and societal structures from various scientific perspectives, we can better address the root causes of segregation and division.
Conclusion
Transcending human nature and achieving a cohesive and inclusive society is a complex journey. It requires a deep understanding of our shared similarities and individual differences, recognition of privilege, and a commitment to ethical law. By addressing these issues, we can move towards a future where all individuals are valued for their character, and we work together to address the significant challenges facing our world.
