What is a Googol?
By definition, a googol is (10^{100}) which has 101 digits: one followed by 100 zeroes. To put this into perspective, the number 10^n has n 1 decimal digits. Therefore, a googol, which is (10^{100}), has 101 digits. While 10^n has n 1 digits, a googol is a massive number. Nevertheless, it is insignificant compared to numbers such as a googolplex, (10^{10^{100}}), or Graham's number.
It's worth noting that a googol is so large that it exceeds the number of atoms in the known universe a quintillion times or more. This makes it challenging to grasp just how large this number truly is.
Understanding a Googolplex
A Googolplex is defined as (10^{10^{100}}). A googolplex is a number so large that if you could turn the entire known universe into ink, you still couldn't write all of its zeroes! In other words, a googolplex is much, much larger than a googol and any conceivable number we can imagine. It is often described as "ten to the power of ten to the power of one hundred."
It's important to note that there are no zeroes in a googolplex in its mathematical form. Instead, it consists of a one followed by a googol of zeroes. Similarly, a "googolplexian," which is (10^{10^{10^{100}}}), would be a one followed by a googolplex of zeroes. This illustrates the exponential growth of these numbers.
