Where Have I Been Lately? My Journey as a Chief Marketing Officer and Return to Content Creation

It's been a while since my last post, and I've wanted to explain why. In the middle of 2022, I took on a significant new role as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for a leading direct marketing company. The opportunity to shape and drive their marketing efforts was incredibly exciting, but it also came with a steep learning curve and an unexpected time commitment.

Challenges of the New Position

One of my primary responsibilities was overseeing the overall advertising and sales strategy for the company. This involved diving deep into the company's existing marketing department, its financials, and branding goals. The role required me to develop a new structure for the marketing department, approve marketing campaign ideas, and effectively coordinate marketing efforts with these broader business goals.

Being the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) was both a challenge and a great learning experience. It demanded a lot of my time, and it took over some of the time I had previously devoted to content creation on platforms like Quora and other social media channels. I spent a lot of my day-to-day working to meet my obligations in this new position, and as a result, I became quite MIA (Missing In Action) from Quora for a period.

Adjusting to the New Schedule

Life with the new position brought its share of challenges. There are only 24 hours in a day, and my days turned into a busy whirlwind. I threw myself fully into my new responsibilities, which required a significant amount of time, energy, and focus. This transition inevitably impacted my writing schedule on Quora and other platforms, as the demands of my new role consumed a substantial portion of my time.

Returning to My Roots

Now, after some time, I've started to catch up and am making significant progress on my deliverables from the CMO role. As a result, I'm excited to be back to creating content with more frequency. It's incredibly fulfilling to return to a place where I can share knowledge and insights with a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about the topics we cover.

Being the Chief Marketing Officer has been an incredible experience, but it comes with its challenges. However, I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow.
