I myself am a CSE student from Thapar and scored 98.02 percentile in JEE 2023. Recently, 1.25 crore on-campus placements arrived for me from Rubrik, and just yesterday, 8 students from Thapar got internships at Apple. Our on-campus environment is amazing, and we enjoyed a successful GSoC (Google Summer of Code) application, with 6 students selected. The average salary for CSE graduates from Thapar is around 20 LPA. Overall, Thapar outperforms most IITs and is considered the best in India for Computer Science Engineering (CSE). The curriculum is challenging, and the cutoffs are very stringent, with no branch admitting students below 98 percentiles. Our teaching quality is top-notch, and the opportunities for students are on par with the best IITs.

Furthermore, the Current Chief Secretary of 3 states (Punjab, Odisha, and Meghalaya) are from Thapar's 1975–80 batch. This is a genuine and honest review of Thapar, and if you are looking for a top-notch CSE education, Thapar is undoubtedly the best choice.

While Thapar offers excellence, NIT Jalandhar is also a great option. Admitting NIT Jalandhar will give you an NITian tag, which is highly valued in the industry. NIT Jalandhar has a better infrastructure, a vibrant college culture, and a wide range of extracurricular activities. The campus also offers numerous opportunities, and the placement rates are top-notch.
Choosing between Thapar and NIT Jalandhar is highly subjective and depends on personal preferences and career goals. However, from my standpoint, both are among the best.

NIT Jalandhar stands out due to its great environment, top-notch placement opportunities, and low competition. The batch size is only 150 compared to Thapar's 500, leading to a less crowded campus environment. The lesser fees and return on investment are also factors that make NIT Jalandhar an attractive option. For those interested in the Information Technology (IT) branch, NIT Jalandhar is an excellent choice. Here are the reasons why:
