The Worst WiFi Company: Why ACT Fibernet is Not Worth Your Time

Introduction

Choosing a reliable WiFi service provider can make or break your digital experience. When my friend and I were shopping for a WiFi service in New Delhi, we were diligently researching major brands such as Airtel Jio. Unfortunately, we ended up choosing ACT Fibernet for all the wrong reasons. In this article, I’ll share my personal experience and the critical issues that led me to regret this decision.

The Initial Chaos: A Tale of Mismanagement

When I tried to set up WiFi through ACT Fibernet's website, I was promptly contacted by a representative. However, things quickly spiraled out of control when a different employee called me to halt the process. This was my first red flag: employees from the same company were competing against each other for customers.

Despite the initial confusion, I decided to follow through with the second representative, Abhishek, who offered a special deal. Abhishek promised to refund 250 for each connection if my friend and I subscribed together. The deal seemed straightforward, and we agreed to it.

The Shady Deal

Abhishek and his associate arrived at my place with the initial payment of 4500. This amount included 1000 extra for a supposedly foolproof WiFi device that would provide power backup in case of power cuts. The process seemed easy, but the experience that followed was far from smooth.

Broken Promises and Poor Service

The promised WiFi installation didn't occur until 8 PM, over 14 hours after I paid the initial amount. Multiple calls and voicemails only led to frustration. When my friend experienced an internet outage during a power cut, Abhishek's behavior was unprofessional, and his claims about the device's functionality were demonstrably false.

Over the next six months, I faced multiple connectivity issues and delays in support. When I moved to a new location, ACT required me to handle the relocation of the WiFi device myself—a process that was not only time-consuming but also frustrating. Despite ongoing issues, ACT’s app still showed my service as expired, leading to further complications.

The 1250 Refund That Never Came

During the relocation process, I requested a refund of the 1000 I had paid for the supposed power backup device. ACT’s representatives claimed they had no record of this device, which left me feeling cheated. Attempting to reach Abhishek, who had stopped responding to my calls and WhatsApp messages, highlighted the lack of accountability within the company.

Service Discontinuation: The Final Straw

After months of frustration, I decided to discontinue ACT Fibernet’s services. The process through the app was straightforward, but the retention department continued to harass me with calls. Despite voicing my grievances, no concrete action was taken. Even after my package expired, I kept receiving calls regarding device pickup, but no mention was made of my refund, which is still pending over five months later.

Lessons Learned

The experiences I had with ACT Fibernet reaffirmed several critical lessons:

Internal Mismanagement: The company's internal competition between employees resulted in a chaotic and frustrating customer experience. False Promises: Claims about power backup and refundable devices were outright false. Poor Customer Service: The lack of accountability and repeated delays indicate that customer satisfaction is not a priority. No Resolution: Even after discontinuing their services, I have yet to receive my refund, highlighting the company's negligence.

Conclusion

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend ACT Fibernet to anyone. Their service is unreliable, their employees are unprofessional, and their promises are deceptive. If you're considering a WiFi provider, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I've since switched to a different provider and couldn't be happier with the decision.
